I decided to pay homage to the movie posters of the late 1960's and early 1970's slasher films. I used black&white for the picture, and stuck it between a black boarder to the top and bottom of the picture. I used a blend color of dark reds for the text. I went with a short two sentence description/draw in "It started off as just a song. But then they stayed too long." I thought it was short, and to the point and it rhymed as an extra bonus. I didn't go for obscure text from some website. I used the Cooper Black for the title and characters, for the rest i used Gloucester MT Extra Condensed. I found it to be the best stock text for movie credits, giving it that classic condensed look.

I used an old song from the band The Monkees called Last Train To Clarksville it is an extremely upbeat song (like all Monkees songs) and i decided to flip the idea around and make it into a horror movie poster called Last Train From Clarksville, with the idea of it being like and escape/horror film.

I used a photo from flikr of an old train yard with an abandoned building. I made it black and white, added the train used some black paint on it with the opacity at 10% and was able to blend the black and white photos together nicely. I also did the same with the picture of the monkeys which i cropped and cut out.

All in all I am pleased with the outcome of the poster. It has sparked my interest in photoshop even more, and I plan on continuing to learn the program after my class is over.

First Post

In this CLASS I hope to obtain the skills needed in the everyday workplace with Adobe CS4. I know that having knowledge in this field will put me ahead of many people entering the workplace these days. Technology is only going to improve and having a leg up on your competition can only help you.

I'm a Communications major at Alvernia. I am a junior and plan to graduate in Fall 2012, I plan on possibly interning at Sony in California this summer. I'm am interested in film for the most part music as well. I would like to go into either film making or editing, as of right now. I'm not 100% sure what I'd like to do but the pressure to give some sort of answer is always there.

I am a Philadelphia sports fan through and through. I follow all 4 teams. I am an avid record collector, and my music collection digitally is currently peaking at about 50,000 songs(but it's always rising). Last year I bought an MacBook from Apple and I am always learning new stuff on that.
